Hip osteoarthritis

Hip osteoarthritis is wear of the hip joint where the cartilage thins over time. You'll notice pain in the groin or hip during movement, stiffness after rest, and reduced walking comfort. Physiotherapy can significantly reduce symptoms, even with osteoarthritis. By working on strength, mobility and good movement patterns, you keep the hip functioning well for as long as possible.

Groin injury

Groin injury is an umbrella term for complaints in the groin area. It can involve an adductor muscle tear, a sports hernia, tendinitis, or a problem originating from the hip or abdominal wall. Groin and hip complaints can sometimes be hard to tell apart, so accurate diagnosis is essential. We investigate the source of the pain and treat it specifically.

Piriformis syndrome

The piriformis is a small muscle deep in the buttock that rotates the hip outward. When this muscle becomes tight or enlarged, it can press on the sciatic nerve. This causes pain in the buttock, radiating into the leg, similar to sciatica. With dry needling, stretching and targeted exercises, we release the tension in the piriformis.

Trochanteric pain

Pain on the outside of the hip, at the level of the greater trochanter, is often caused by gluteal tendinopathy or trochanteric bursitis. This complaint is common in middle-aged women but also in runners. Recovery requires patience, but with the right approach there is certainly a good outlook.
